Emperor’s Puff

The brief was about kinetic typography and place. Using a combination of text and image, the short reel is meant to encapsulate an anecdotal reflection of a chosen location. The motion graphic should clearly represent the location and experience for unfamiliar viewers.

I chose a small chinatown storefront that has always been dear to my heart, selling delicious and cheap custard puffs. The text and motion all reveal the quintessential experience of using any leftover change to get as many sweet treats as you can stomach.

I’d like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which I live, the Cammeraygal people. I pay my respect to Elders past, present and emerging, as well as to any Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples who may be visiting this site. Sovereingty was never ceded.
